Commercial work adds operational logic to design: how guests arrive and move, how staff serve without being seen, how a room performs in the evening as well as at noon, and which materials stay beautiful under heavy use.

How a hospitality & commercial commission runs

Consultation & brief
We start with the site, the brief and the way you will use the building — plot conditions, developer or community guidelines, programme, budget range and timeline.

Concept design
Zoning, spatial planning and massing, with an early material and colour direction. You see the idea in plan and in three dimensions before anything is fixed.
- 03
Design development
Layouts, elevations, sections and visualisation are refined together until proportion, circulation and light are right — and the scheme meets the authority or developer requirements.
- 04
Detailed design & FF&E
Technical drawings, joinery details, finishes, lighting and furniture specification — the package a contractor and joiner can build from without guesswork.
- 05
Coordination on site
We work alongside consultants, suppliers and contractors, reviewing shop drawings and samples so the built result matches the approved design.

Do you design restaurants and hotels as well as homes?
Yes. Hospitality and boutique commercial work is one of the studio's three focus areas, alongside high-end residential and residential development.
How is commercial design different from residential?
The planning is driven by operations and flow, materials must withstand far heavier use, and the specification has to work for procurement and maintenance. The design language can still be warm and personal.
Can you design amenity areas in a residential development?
Yes — lobbies, lounges, wellness and rooftop amenity spaces were part of our scope on the CÉLINE Residences tower.
